Szabadics Ride

COMPANY CHALLENGE

BUILDING A COMMUNITY IS PART OF THE COMPANY CULTURE

In recent years, the Mapei Tour de Zalakaros has became one of the most popular Hungarian amateur road race. On the first day, the great company bicycle race takes place, the Szabadics Ride Company Challenge.

The organizers first organized the race in 2017, when four or five member teams could enter either in hobby or professional categories.  The participants of the bicycle race have to cycle 36 km in the beautiful surroundings around the Kis-Balaton.

In 2020, 42 teams entered, 28 in the race category and 14 in the hobby category. The fame of the competition is spreading with each year, and more and more company teams enter.

In the light of the corporate philosophy of Szabadics Zrt., the basic mission of the competition is the community-building power of the initiative and the importance of teambuilding.

Just like in case of sports, in a company’s life teams can only perform well, if the members cooperate and help each other. People choosing to participate understand and feel the importance of cooperation better, which is an important part of the company culture.

The bicycle event is also a great opportunity for making contacts, and the sub-contractors, partners and suppliers of the company are also invited. This makes a kind of community building possible, through joint experience.

The MAPEI Tour de Zalakaros is mentioned as the best bicycle event of Hungary this year; in 2020, 1400 participants entered and competed on various distances.
