The Sauna world was opened in the town bath in Zalakaros. Its foundation stone was laid at the end of 2019. The work of the 450 million Hungarian Forint investment were completed by the deadline by Szabadics Zrt of Zala megye. Many important projects of the bath complex have been undertaken and implemented by the company, as we have reported last time in the summer. A project interview was also done.
In the new section of the spa town, the completed sauna world can be used by almost 200 guests at the same time. The following were built:
- steam room, aroma biosauna, showers and an infra relaxation area on the upper floor.
- a 40 guest sauna hall on the ground floor, with cold and warm water submersion pools, jacuzzi, heated benches and relaxation areas. The sauna hall is suitable for ceremonies as well.
- A spacious log sauna in the yard, also suitable for sauna programs.
Tourism in Hungary is at record high
Szabolcs Juhász, the Tourism Director of the Magyar Turisztikai Ügynökség (Hungarian Tourism Agency) said at the ceremonial opening: the establishment, which was built with the 100 million HUF support of the Kisfaludy development program started by the Agency, also contributes to the wide range of baths that awaits visitors in all seasons, outside of the capital city.
He pointed out that based on the first ten months’ data, tourism in Hungary might be peaking at an even higher record than last year’s record numbers. Ferenc Novák, the Mayor of Zalakaros talked about that since the opening of the bath in 1965, over 30 million guests visited the place; the town is marked on the map of baths in Europe, and in Hungary it is considered to be among the top 10 bath and spa.
Continuous development and innovation is necessary for success, and the improvement of services and supply is crucial, said the Mayor, at the same time thanking the constructing company for their excellent work.
Attila Szabadics, Vice President of Szabadics Zrt said that the company thanks for and is proud of being the part of the life and bustle of the Zalakaros bath. The building of the sauna world relates to the whole complex as a child relates to the parent; there are similarities like between the generations of a family, thanks to the design, he said.
